FOOD CRACKS

As we get older, it seems that we get to look forward each day to something in with bodies that doesn't work like it did.   Pains in new spots, a little more hearing loss, eyes are not what they used to be, and, yet another wrinkle.  Stomachs stick out a little more, we sit down and find ourselves asleep.  Well, we were eating dinner and Kathy told Gary that he had food in the corners of his mouth.  What!   Gary said, I don't have food in the corners of my mouth!   He wipped his face, and, Kathy says, still there.  Well, what a big problem.  Gary had to whip real hard to get his face clean.   Like other old age problems, you learn to deal.  So now, Gary grins real hard and it kind of drops out.  How disgusting.   Another thing to check.   Kathy calls them food cracks.   Here some pictures.

Gary's first lesson.

We had a conference with a mission district.  And, for the Saturday priesthood session, not many people showed up.  So, the president had them come to another meeting two weeks later, and, me and the other counselor had to handle it without him.    Gary got no guidance on what to say and do.  It was a very tense two week.  No one speaks English.  It is all Spanish.   He got a lesson together and had his Spanish checked, and changed a lot, and the time came.  There were about 30 People and Gary started first.  He did an interactive lesson with the White board and he asked lots of questions.  The lesson went about 30 min.   It was all a blessing from Heavenly Father, it went well.  He did not understand the answers to questions, but, the spirit was there and the class understood the lesson.   Any success here was strictly The Lord, not Gary.   And that is how we get by!

The Lord has people that are ready to listen
Two of our elders were walking on a street and a lady came by.  They said hello and started to talk.  It turns out, she is a less active member.  They managed to get an appoint to visit her in her house.  At the appointment, they met her husband and son, both not members.  Well, they taught them and very soon the father and son were baptized and they are all attending church!   We know that people are prepared to listen to the missionaries, our job as missionaries, is to find therm.  We do that by living our lives so the spirit is with us, and talking to everybody.
